This emotional piece for solo piano features themes of loneliness, dissociation, and being content in your current self. It is free flowing, without a time signature, and relies on the relationship between note duration to guide your performance. It is inspired by this poem I wrote:

Sometimes I wish I could watch myself from a distant window, exist in a room without being in it. How green are the pastures there, where light pours over the edge of the earth? From here, they look so shockingly divine that I have to force myself to watch in tortured awe. I’d let my mind float into the horizon if I could, and leave my body to continue wandering. I wonder, however, if I were to achieve what I desire, if my body stood there while my consciousness lay here, if I’d stare through the window and only catch myself looking back at me. I wonder if I only long to be where I’m not.
